Coffee-inspired verse! You'll find it here, thanks to those friends of ours who've been moved by the bean — or other muses, as the case may be — to compose for your edification and enjoyment.
Coffee in the morn
Polly and Jodi will serve
Kick start and good friends.
Stewart McLeod
Come to the place where the coffee is milled
Where your ear is bent and your mug is filled
Quick with a joke and an espresso shot
This place is so cool, it's hot
Music and art, Ramblings of a Madman
Cliff is a hippie unrepentant
Jody, his wife, his chief lieutenant
A grunt, a yawn, what I need I'm too tired to say
The Ladies of the morning still know how to get me on my way
So I write you this verse
Though I know I'm not the first
To say "Thank you for starting my day."
Vin Lanzolla
Growing up in the warm Brazilian sun, I soak up the energy from the soil
Riding proudly among the breezes, I watch the locals as they toil
I am a simple bean who knows my purpose in life and wants nothing more
Than to join my brothers in constant aromatic motions traveling shore to shore
I dream of Rio and traveling to a piping hot coffee bar, draining my scent in rich blends
I pray my friends will reach a similar fate, who knows where this journey will end
For I am rich in flavor and rich in heritage and all before me have left in many directions
My goals are to arouse the addiction in all who desire my soaking, potential perfection
It's not easy being green, I need to be roasted. Please take me off this tree, it is time
Alas I fall into a container with the others and we wait patiently for the sublime
Nights of stillness and nothingness consume my every thought, where am I going
Finally the open air awakens my spirit and I am alive, roasting to a new day dawning
My first bath is a flavorful experience joining my amigos in a drenching waterfall of pleasure
My expectations exceed any I've ever had and I finally arrive to release my treasure
My body is grinded into millions of pieces as I multiply my purpose into one last thrill
Slowly, hot water flows over my remains, and I am poured and served at the Coffee Mill...
Morris R. Hinton
I love you Coffee
Rich and deep
Within your boundaries
Come not sleep.
Your sugar and caffeine
I reap,
And drink 'til daylight

When you feel the need to cut the yard,
The Antigua bean will hit you hard.
The buzz you get won't last too long.
For 30 minutes or so you will feel so strong.
The bean itself from Guatemala it ships,
You make a cup and raise it to your lips.
Before you're done you've started cleaning the room.
The bean from Antigua it will make you zoom.
If you want to hum you drink Colombian,
If you want some toast have a nice French roast,
If you want expense Blue Mountain is the best,
With bean from Antigua you'll clean up your mess.

Ever wonder why the people in Miami
Are always tapping their feet?
It's because of a little beverage
That gets you up out of your seat.
It seems so small and inconspicuous.
But when you drink it it will kick your *ss
Get you dancing even as you wake up.
Yes it gives you quite a "little" shake up.
It is liquid electricity.
And it'll get you going quite nicely.
And it only costs a dollar when you buy on the street.
You ask just what it is I am talking about?
It's the coffee espresso that Cubans drink,
And it will make you scream and shout....
No Fidel!
You ask how it's made so I will try to tell you,
The little secrets they've found.
First they grind a dark roast finely, aye!
I love the smell and the sound!
They run it through an espresso machine
And it flows into a Styrofoam cup.
That has about 3 tablespoons of sugar
And they stir it after it fills up.
You ask just what it is I am talking about?
It's the coffee espresso that Cubans drink,
And it will make you scream and shout....
No Fidel!
So now you are asking how to drink it? Well,
Only the strong would survive.
If they took that cup all to themselves,
It would make you way too alive!
So they give you tiny plastic glasses
So all your friends can share,
And after you have a shot or two,
You want to start dancing everywhere.
You ask just what it is I am talking about?
It's the coffee espresso that Cubans drink,
And it will make you scream and shout....
No Fidel!
So if you ever visit Miami just do like the Cubans do.
Take a shot of café Cubano and you'll be tapping your feet too!

The election is history, Now we are waiting Early in the evening Late in the evening Then even later, Al Gore called George, Then Al changed his mind, |
Now the recounters are counting, The ballots were confusing to Seniors Now we are still waiting Now in late December They can if they choose Now maybe they'll decide Jack Koobs |
